Ruth Blenkiron, an Associate Consultant / Executive Coach at Hender Careers since 2018, also consults with organisations to guide performance and productivity to achieve strategically focussed outcomes through people and enhanced leadership development. Her current work includes coaching for executive leaders, undertaking organisational reviews, strategic HR planning and workforce development, mediation and membership of various boards as a non-executive director.
Earlier in her career Ruth was the Executive Director: Human Resources at the University of South Australia (2008-2017). She has also been the Director Workforce Development with the Department for Education and Children’s Services (DECS) and led the iconic South Australian Centre for Leaders in Education [SACLE] with responsibility for leadership training and professional development for school leaders across SA. Earlier appointments have included Registrar of the Supreme Court of South Australia, Director of Strategic Development, Deputy Commissioner for Equal Opportunity in SA, Deputy Principal and Acting Principal of an R-12 Independent School, and Director of the Office of the Chief Executive for state education in SA.
After a diverse career in both public and private sector organisations, undertaking work in organisational review, restructure and reform, Ruth enjoys her varied work as a consultant. Ruth’s passion and enthusiasm for raising the bar and driving performance and improvement – including her own. Ruth was recognised as a Fellow of UniSA in 2017, for her outstanding achievements and contribution to the University.
Ruth enjoys the coaching aspect of her consultancy role and works with a number of executives across a diverse range of businesses.
